So many things… hopefully I will cover all the things you need to know to get you through the last week before the break!
Cookie Decorating Wednesday – Are there any volunteers who would be willing to supply our class with a set of gingerbread men cookies? One per student (20 total). I am also looking for a contribution of icing and decorating supplies. We will have doing a STEM activity trying to catch the Gingerbread People after we decorate them.
Supplies: Next week we will NOT have Genius Hour but we will be doing some fun and wacky activities. Students will each need a collection of supplies from the list to be successful! Please check your craft cupboards for the following items: cardboard, tubing, pipe cleaners, tape, wire, straws, tubing, balloons, plastic wrap, tape, glue, toilet paper rolls, plastic containers, string, elastic bands, clothes pins, paper cups, Ziploc bags, cereal boxes, juice box containers etc.
Christmas Concert – On Monday, December 17th we will be having our Christmas concert. The concert will take place at 6:30 pm in the gym and we ask that you have your child in their classroom by 6:10. The students work very hard to prepare for this event and it is our expectation that students participate in the Christmas concert.
Each class will be wearing different costumes: and our class will be dressing up in business attire! We look forward to a wonderful concert as it is a great way to celebrate the Christmas season!
Intermediate Ski Trip – You will need to sign up AND return your green form back to the classroom before Christmas break. Please be prompt in signing up for this as registration does close next week. Digestive System Unit Test on Wednesday, December 18th – Students may use their unit booklet as a study guide to help them study for a quiz. All work in the booklet up to the Make A Digestive System activity is also due on Wednesday.
Class Party on Wednesday, December 19th – I will challenge the students to an ESCAPE ROOM Christmas activity and we will do a STEM activity to address roaming gingerbread men! Students might want to brush up on their trapping skills. If you wish to send a snack in for the class to share you may.

*This week we have had a few fun things happen in grade 5/6. It is true, we have had story time, snow ball fights and built snow people. We have also attending grade 12 science classes to learn about the Nervous System!
