1. Manning Park is stunning!
2. Sliding on snow on skis, snowboards, and toboggans is fun!
3. HOT CHOCOLATE!
4. Snow balls.
5. Community building and memories!

I believe in getting kids outside, in nature, having fun, experiencing problem solving and risk in safe environments, however the nature of the classroom doesn’t provide much opportunity for this. The ski trip is a great place for kids to learn a new skills, experience some freedom, and move through the environment in exhilarating ways.

I often hear “my child isn’t really into it” as a reason students don’t attend this field trip. Kids aren’t into lots of things, as educators we are striving to create an exciting opportunity for them to discover if they are “into it”! How do you know if you don’t try?

In class we have explored growth mindset, I expect all my students will approach this school field trip with an open mindset prepared for adventure!
