Sept. 14th-18th

Dear grade 6 community,

We did it! Week one concluded and week two begins tomorrow. Last week we focused on settling into routines, especially concerning Covid protocols. Students will continue to adhere to protocols as we continue to adjust to the new way of managing the challenges Covid and in class learning presents. I appreciate the children’s earnest efforts to maintain distance when possible and wash their hands. Dr. Henry would be pleased to hear Grade 6 are wonderful examples of the moto “be kind and wash your hands.”

Another focus last week was to recognize the little ways we can grow in faith and love. I observed students practice small and big acts of kindness to one another. We also learned mistakes are opportunities to grow. We will continue this theme in week two.

Regarding drop off in the morning, students seemed to adjust well to coming directly to class once they have arrived at school and are reporting their acing those daily health checks. Thank you for your cooperation with this! Pick has been a little more chaotic. Thank you for your grace as we work out the sticky points. As a parent, I can appreciate the pick up change presents some challenges. It is important to remember we do need students to be picked up promptly. In this phase of return to school teachers are expected perform their duties as promptly as possible and also vacate the school property quickly after school.

Concerning students exhibiting any symptoms of illness, thank you for your continued cooperation keeping them home until they are nonsymptomatic. I can appreciate this is difficult but it continues to be the guidelines we are to adhere for the time being.

Please note, student pictures will be taken on Friday, September 18th. Students will wear uniforms on this day.

Peace and grace,

Ms. Froyland
